About The Role
As the project engineer / architectural draftsperson, you will be responsible for completing architectural details, including house plans, electrical layouts, cabinetry drawings, elevations, section details, and renderings. You should bring working knowledge of programs such as Chief Architect (or similar), AutoCAD, and MS Office to the table along with a desire to refine your skills. Your high level of accuracy, team focus, and customer service skills will be paramount to your success in this role.
Regular Responsibilities
ROUTINE WORK
- Develop project drawings and fabrication drawings in collaboration with designers, architects, project team, and clients.
- Site measuring and documenting existing structures and conditions for additions, new build, and renovations.
- Collaborate with project manager, designers, townships, and all other stakeholders as required.
- Adherence to the Ontario Building Code throughout design and detail stages.
- Maintain regular communication with project team, including but not limited to: Project Manager/Coordinator, Estimator and Designers.
Skills & Experience:
- A proven team member focused on quality, support, and attention to detail.
- Must be fluent in the MS Office suite of products.
- Working knowledge of Chief Architect (or similar).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- In-Depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and Ontario Building Code.
- Must be client-driven to provide the best for the client.
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of drafting experience within the construction industry.
- BCIN is considered a strong asset.
